Product and process coverage

RapidRFQ covers RFQ intake, CAD and document review, milling, turning, sheet work, structural stock, assemblies, purchased components, outside processes, supplier responses, commercial quote options, approvals, and outcomes.

Process depth varies with geometry and input quality. Unsupported cases are designed to become visible estimator review or an approval blocker rather than a silent automatic price.

Implementation and fit

A pilot starts with representative jobs and the actual shop environment. Machine capabilities, loaded rates, bend tables, sheet and structural stock, materials, suppliers, security, and quote terms are configured before acceptance testing.

Historical and CAM evidence are used to measure prediction error. The aim is a repeatable workflow the shop trusts, not a generic demo that happens to price sample files.

What does RapidRFQ do?

It manages the workflow from manufacturing RFQ intake through geometry and requirements review, cost planning, supplier coordination, approval, customer quote, and outcome.

Is RapidRFQ fully automatic?

No. It automates analysis and workflow tasks while keeping estimator review and approval in control.

Which manufacturing processes are covered?

Milling, turning, sheet cutting and forming, structural stock cutting, additive, wire EDM, assemblies, purchased components, outside processes, and inspection paths are represented.

Which files are supported?

The workflow accepts STEP, IGES, DXF, DWG, PDF, CSV, and XLSX in process-appropriate roles, subject to validation and review requirements.

Does RapidRFQ unfold sheet metal?

It validates and develops selected formed STEP and IGES geometry, retains cutouts, and blocks unsupported cases until a revision-matched flat is supplied.

Does it replace CAM?

No. It performs quote-stage analysis and material planning; it does not emit compensated production toolpaths.

Where does the data live?

The application database, uploads, configuration, and backups live in the shop-controlled installation by default.

Can it integrate with an ERP?

A versioned quote API exists for shop-owned adapters. Named vendor integrations require target selection, mapping, credentials, and qualification.

Is RapidRFQ production-ready?

It is ready for paid, supervised pilots. Unattended pricing, broad Windows distribution, enterprise assurance, and shop-specific calibration require additional field evidence.
